Sparkle and Bling Fairy

The best part about waking up on Saturday's is knowing there's a new challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge! Well, and the fact I can sleep in a bit, enjoy a cup of coffee, and hopefully start out stress free. This week the OSCC is sponsored by A Day For Daisies, I just LOVE their whimsical images. The DT really knocked it out of the park with their cards, so I hope you'll pop over to check them out. Then YOU will be inspired to Bling it On with us!

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
Image Detail
The bit of gold ribbon on the bottom of my card was repurposed from a flower arrangement. I've had it in my stash for years!
It didn't photograph well, but I used Spicas all over my image for added shimmer. I paper pieced her wings, headband, and dress with digi papers.
Triple Bling - Stickles glitter, metallic paper, and rhinestones.
Tip: An easy way to add extra oomph to your creation is to use Stickles over the designs in your patterned paper. Here I doodled over some of the heart edges and swirls.

Clean and Simple Halloween Trio

These Halloween/Fall Cards have one thing in common. They were all QUICK, CLEAN and SIMPLE! Not a style I excel at, but it was very gratifying to complete them so quickly. Well, once the images were colored. I don't take into account my color therapy. :) I will color away while watching TV most evenings. This is great for stress relief but I tend to get a pile of colored images that don't always make it to a card until days, months, even YEARS later. I hope these inspire you to try the CAS road.

Heat Embossing at the OSCC

Welcome to Saturday! We are back on track at One Stop Craft Challenge with some amazing new Design Team members. Thanks for waiting for us during the mini break while we regrouped. This week we are sponsored by the FABULOUS A Day for Daisies with a heat embossing challenge. I love ADFD images, they are so whimsical and fun to color. I was thrilled to play with Butterfly Fairy for my card. I hope you join us this week in the Embossing Challenge. I heat embossed my image on vellum and layered over a panel I'd used the shaving cream technique on. If you look closely you'll see my black and white background piece is double embossed. I inked my embossing folder with Versamark, ran my white cardstock through and then piled on black embossing powder. It gives a bit grungier look than the typical crisp lines from just one embossing technique.

I pulled inspiration from several other challenges too, please check out the links and join in their fun as well.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

TIP: The easiest way to add impact to your cards, is pile on the layers and give them some ‘pop’. This is super easy to do, especially with winged images. Add a mini pop up or glue dot behind the wings and your card is ready to take flight.
I’m pretty good at Copic coloring and using layers for oomph.
I fussy cut 3 fairies to create my dimensional girl.
I think my card is indeed smothered with crafty goodness, maybe a bit TOO much.
365 Cards Day 166 ~ Squared I have layers and layers of squares
365 Cards Day 183 ~ Pick-a-Pattern (I used Polka Dots and Toile)
365 Cards Day 223 ~ Double the Fun (double up on at least 3 items)
1) Doubled up embossing with dry and wet; 2) Doubled up on stamping with a digi and rubber; 3) Doubled up on layers with each panel having 2 layers

Peaceful Peacock

My grandma first introduced me to the beauty of peacock feathers. They include our favorite shades of blue and are such a great example of God's artistry. I was very excited to find this carefree image at A Day for Daisies and knew it HAD to be colored. It's my first attempt at coloring this regal bird, and I'm fairly pleased with how it came out.

This card was designed for the Sketch Challenge over at One Stop Crafts Challenge Blog. The Design Team were able to play with some amazing images from A Day for Daisies. I hope you are able to play along with the sketch; you could WIN free digis!

Fairy Friend

Wahoo for another challenge at One Stop Crafts. This week are sponsored by the AMAZING A Day for Daisies. I love her artistic style and all the images are adorable. Stop over at OSCC to see what my awesome design team members created with the images. We'd love you to join in our For the One I Love challenge and if you have A Day for Daisies images we'd LOVE to see how you use them. There are lots of love/valentine challenges going on right now, so join in the tummy butterflies season and create a card for the one you love.

My Creation
I paper pieced my fairy's dress and wings and then added depth and shimmer with SU markers and spica  glitter pens. TIP: To keep your ribbon ends from fraying, lightly touch them to a flame. The heat melts the fibers and NO more frays! Be careful though or your hard work could go up in flames!
