Dotty Birthday

Hello all, I have a fun card to share with some not so fun news. This is for the Spots and Dots challenge going on over at One Stop Crafts. This will be our last challenge as we will close our doors once the winner's are posted. I'm ever so grateful to the amazing Shelly at OSC for giving me my first real design team experience. I've loved getting to know the other DT members and will working with them. Thankfully the world of blogging will keep us all connected.

I created this card for my 12 year old god daughter. She's past the princess stage but still a kid so I wanted to make something girly but not completely kid-ish. Twelve was a big milestone for her as she is allowed to get her ears pierced AND sit in the front seat of the car. I thought I should reinforce the age with a glittery 12 on the card.

I hope you take a moment to stop over at OSCC to play in our final challenge.
Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

Image Detail
I embossed the large numbered background stamp in white embossing powder on white cardstock. I created a stencil using various punches and dies and then sponged the circles in random colors.
The verse is also embossed white on white and then inked with pink and cut out. Some random pearls and bling and the sparkly 12 and this is ready to send out. With a gift card for some ear ring shopping. :o)

OSC Sister Gold in Her Hair

Hi there and welcome to Saturday! Do you like my twist on the classic song by America? I couldn't stop humming it after I added a bit of golden glitter to my image. I'm really pleased with the overall look of my card. We have a new challenge over at One Stop Crafts and this week we are looking for you to add some stripes. I used a striped DSP for my background and another piece with subtle stripes on it for the white layer. There are pale blue script that make their own line.I hope you hop on over and play along!

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to my image and opted to use just one color of Stickles and go outside the normal color bound. The Platinum Stickles added just the perfect highlight and pop to her hair. I like it there even more than on the flowers.
A really cool effect I'm certain to use again.

Pretty Pastel Chicky

Hello there! How are all my friends in blog land? I had a busy weekend hosting my hubby's Funsters group at our annual city celebration. He's a real clown and this was the last parade of the season. Our yard was a flurry of make up, clown noses, and lots of laughter! A really great group of guys and it was nice to have their families join us for the afternoon. Here's Mr. Gears.

I know I'll get boo-ed, but I'm actually looking forward to summer ending. I do prefer cool weather but it seems the busy-ness of summer keeps me from spending time in the craft studio. Hopefully things will slow down so I can get back to crafting. :o)

I have a sweet little chick to share with you today. We are having a Pastel Colors challenge over at One Stop Crafts this week and the fabulous Ellenphantastic is our sponsor. I used their image Chicky to make my card.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation

Image Detail
I colored the image with Copics, added bits of stickles to the outlines and applied a layer of Crackle Glaze over the egg shell. I really like the effect on the cracked egg and have to remember it when I use similar images.
I was too lazy to go upstairs and cut a circle on my Cuttlebug, so I got creative with what was nearby. I'd just received a Stampin Up order with this mini scalloped punch in it. I punched several circles and adhered them in the shape of a larger circle. I actually think it's a cool effect. I got layers and dimension. I took it up a notch by adding faux stitching to the edges of each circle, and also on the circle in the card base. I generous layer of stickles over the accent gives shine and texture.
Inspiration
I have dimension by popping up my image and creating my own circle die cut, an added layer of Stickles gives it more oomph.
I created a larger circle by punching out several small circles.

Lots of Candles

Hello all! I am SO far behind on my crafting. I had the opportunity to take the vacation of a lifetime and didn't pass it up. My mom's sisters decided to do a follow up to their sister's weekend from several years ago. I was honored to attend that and while my mom has since passed away, I was invited to the latest adventure. To make it even better, my two uncles decided to join us as well. It was a once in a lifetime road trip with beloved family. I'm still catching up on sleep and trying to get the rest of my life back on track. :)

Here's the card I made for last week's challenge at the OSC, ribbon and flowers. I made a flower out of ribbon!

Crafty Flag

Hi there, my second post for the day and another challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge. This week we are creating our own backgrounds. There are lots of ways you can interpret the challenge, just think outside the standard designer paper box. For my card I inked up an embossing folder and then embossed my card. The result is an inked AND embossed panel. Add a few more pieces and I have an artistic flag. Put on your thinking cap and come and play with the design team.

Hot, hot, hot!

Ack! I think my brain has been fried by the summer heat. I didn't get a chance to schedule my One Stop Crafts post and now we are on the brink of a NEW challenge. Hopefully I still have time to inspire you to join in our Summer Colors challenge. The DT played with some AWESOME digis from SK Digis. You really need to check out Sonia's art. She has a few freebies posted so you can sample her style. I can't help but smile when I look at Nutty Jalepeno. He is SO ready for a party!

OSCC Cowgirl Up

Hello there! I need to apologize for the late posting of my DT creation for this week's challenge at One Stop Crafts. My laptop is getting a tune up and my smartphone is too smart for me to figure out how to create blog posts. Thankfully I can use my coffee break at work to update the old bloggo.

This week at OSCC we have the theme of 'For a Friend'. Pattie's Creations is our fabulous sponsor and gave the DT some adorable images to play with. Make sure to hop over to the main challenge page to see what my DT teammates created for your viewing enjoyment. I hope you find time to play along!

Happy Couple in Purple

Wedding season is upon us! I'm kind of at that in-between age where most of my friends are already married, and their kids aren't old enough yet to walk down the aisle. So, I don't get to make wedding cards that often. My boss's daughter recently got married so I was excited to come up with something. Her color was purple and she's a sweet, fun girl. This image from Kenny K was the perfect fit.

Furry Friend Family for OSC

Hello and welcome to the long weekend! At least it is for us in the US as we celebrate Memorial Day. It looks like it might be cool and rainy which means I might find some time to craft! Well, in between the never ending to do list at the house and popping in to the office to try and catch up on some projects.

This week at One Stop Crafts we are looking for Furry Friends. Ellephantastic is sponsoring us and gave the DT some adorable images to play with. I love Roger and Rosie and this is such a cute family image. Play along and you could win!

Glittery Angel Wish

Sometimes beautiful things happen when you least expect it; in life and in crafts! I love being part of my design teams but sometimes hit a wall on what to create. This week we are challenging you to Add Some Glitter at One Stop Crafts Card Challenge. Milk and Coffee Stamps are sponsoring us and gave the DT super cute images to play with. I printed out Angel with the Stars and got stumped. I scoured my favorite blogs for inspiration, but nothing was clicking. Then I noticed the corner of a paper pad sticking out of an abandoned Archiver's bag. What? I bought something and left it in the bag? How long has it been since I was at the store? Weeks? Months? Does anyone else find lost treasures and feel like they just got a gift? I flipped through the stack and was giddy when I saw the pastel patterned clouds. PERFECT for my sweet, whimsical angel. I grabbed my supplies and started in with ink and sparkle. I know the perfect little girl to get this card. She's a late bloomer in the world of losing teeth and has been waiting a long time for the Tooth Fairy to visit. Stick with me here, as I know this isn't a traditional tooth fairy image. But, my sweet girl has a book that explains the tooth fairy waits to come for your tooth until she finds the perfect spot for it in the night sky. That's because she takes your teeth and turns them into stars. I love how the angel is kissing a star while she flits through the clouds.

Okay, now that I've bored you with my story, page down to see my creation. I went a bit crazy with my Stickles and created angel/fairy dust all over. If you like to play with glitter, come and join us this week at the OSC.

Flower Power

Hello and welcome to another chilly weekend in southern Minnesota. I did see a few snow flakes this week but we missed the heavy stuff by about 40 miles. Whew. I'm going to keep thinking spring and this weeks Flower Power challenge at One Stop Crafts is perfect to stay in a sunny state of mind. We have a new sponsor this week, Bearly Mine Designs. They have GORGEOUS papers and flowers for paper crafting. I used all FREEBIES to make my card. I enlarged some of the flower images so I could create an extreme focal point on my card. Lots of layers, a bit of crumpled distressing and edged with Stickles. Not something that will be easily mailed, but perfect for an upcoming wedding.

Buttons and Bows at One Stop Crafts

Happy Saturday, friends! I am in a totally SPRING mood. I was finally able to open up the windows and let the fresh in. The fur herd was QUITE excited and had to pile on top of each other to sniff the air and get one step closer to the birds. They love having the windows open and it doesn't seem to intimidate the birds, squirrels, and rabbits who peer in at them from the outside. This is an old pic, but the cats are still members of the 7 part fur herd and this is a common site year round at our house.

I made a very spring-ey card for this weeks challenge over at One Stop Crafts Card Challenge. The Design Team received super cute images from our sponsor, Patties Creations. Take a moment to pop over to the challenge blog to see their inspiration and then create and link up your own buttons and bows project.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
