Fall Surprise Card

Hello there friends! I'm sorry for the lack of posting of late. Life just keeps getting busier; no complaints other than it cuts into my blogging time. I'm staying super busy crafting but just don't get the projects shared out here.

Today I have a fun card to share. I took a 'surprise me' card class this week with my SU demonstrator and had a blast. I altered one of the cards to meet a few other challenges and because I needed something for my All That Stickles Pile Up post. I'm a glitter girl and Stickles are my go to for easy sparkle.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
The image is embossed with clear powder and then received a bit of Stickles. Since I was using SU standard ink, the embossing step keeps the ink from running when I add on the Stickles.

Are you ready for the surprise portion of the card?

Inside
Surprise! There's a cheery scarecrow and boy to cheer you! I colored the image in Copics and added copious amounts of Stickles.
The card base was cut using the SU Pop n' Cuts die. Before assembling the scene, I stamped some extra trees for background.
I cut fringe with some scraps of cardstock and added them around the image to imitate straw. Of course I had to add Distressed Scattered Straw Stickles to the fringe after I'd crumbled it a bit.
Here you can see the Stickles detail. I only used Distressed Stickles on the card so it's more of a texture than bling addition.

Crafty Flag

Hi there, my second post for the day and another challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge. This week we are creating our own backgrounds. There are lots of ways you can interpret the challenge, just think outside the standard designer paper box. For my card I inked up an embossing folder and then embossed my card. The result is an inked AND embossed panel. Add a few more pieces and I have an artistic flag. Put on your thinking cap and come and play with the design team.

OSCC Cowgirl Up

Hello there! I need to apologize for the late posting of my DT creation for this week's challenge at One Stop Crafts. My laptop is getting a tune up and my smartphone is too smart for me to figure out how to create blog posts. Thankfully I can use my coffee break at work to update the old bloggo.

This week at OSCC we have the theme of 'For a Friend'. Pattie's Creations is our fabulous sponsor and gave the DT some adorable images to play with. Make sure to hop over to the main challenge page to see what my DT teammates created for your viewing enjoyment. I hope you find time to play along!

Furry Friend Family for OSC

Hello and welcome to the long weekend! At least it is for us in the US as we celebrate Memorial Day. It looks like it might be cool and rainy which means I might find some time to craft! Well, in between the never ending to do list at the house and popping in to the office to try and catch up on some projects.

This week at One Stop Crafts we are looking for Furry Friends. Ellephantastic is sponsoring us and gave the DT some adorable images to play with. I love Roger and Rosie and this is such a cute family image. Play along and you could win!

CAS Cool Cat

Today I have a SUPER quick and easy card to share with you. Cool Cat is one of my favorite Stampin Up sets and I have to dig it out every now and then. As much as I love to color with my Copics, sometimes it's nice to step back and stick with the basics.

365 Cards Day 85 ~Throw Back (use technique from when first started stamping)
When I started stamping almost 20 years ago, things were VERY basic. Just an image and some cardstock. The ribbon and brad would have made this ‘fancy’.
I’m mom to 7 fur babies and can assure you there’s nothing softer than kitty fur!

Birthday Wishes

Hi there! I wanted to share with you a super sunshiney colored card today, since the skies are blue, the sun shining and the temp was above 40F! It's almost sandal weather in MN. :o) We'll be getting a few more rounds of snow over the next week, so I'm soaking up the sunshine while I can.

Happy Birthday Using the Negative

Wahoo! Finally a technique for crafters like me that save EVERYTHING! I usually keep my negative pieces from die cutting to use as scraps for small punches, but this card FEATURES that negative space. I made the front of my card a complete negative, so the image is actually positioned on the INSIDE. Of course, a girl has to add a bit of ribbon and a flower to finish things off.

I need to remember to use this technique more often. I’ve seen some super cute creations in blog land.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

Easter Basket

Easter is QUICKLY sneaking up on me. I’ve been having so much fun playing with St. Patrick’s Day projects I’m way behind on my Easter creations. This is a quick little basket made from a template I had in my stash. It’s the perfect size to stock with jelly beans and leave on my co-worker’s desk.
