Easter Sparkle

Easter was early this year, so that means I can be late sharing a few Easter cards.....right? :) I love Easter Avery from The Paper Nest Dolls. I had so much fun coloring her and then went to town with my Stickles to give her a patterned dress. I'm practicing my background technique for outdoor images to add clouds and grass. Slowly, but surely, I'll get it figured out. LOTS of great inspiration out there in blogland, please check out the list of inspiration after the photos and click to join in the fun.

Egg-ceptional Dudley

This was a super quick and easy card to pull together. The card base was already pre-printed with an Easter theme; I had Dudley colored and ready to go; and the strip of bling was at the top of my accessories bucket. I free handed the egg shape to give it even MORE of an Easter feel.

Easter Basket

Easter is QUICKLY sneaking up on me. I’ve been having so much fun playing with St. Patrick’s Day projects I’m way behind on my Easter creations. This is a quick little basket made from a template I had in my stash. It’s the perfect size to stock with jelly beans and leave on my co-worker’s desk.

Spring Flower Girl

Hello crafty friends! I was about to clean off my desk and realized I hadn't made very many Easter cards. I used my SU Easter Blossoms set to craft a card that could be used for general spring themes, or even Mother's Day. I love this little girl with her basket and thought the gems were a fun touch. A card just isn't complete without a little bling!

What a fun sketch from the brains at 365 Cards.
Inspiration
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #50 ~Mother’s Day or Girly Lots of girly options ~ lace, flowers, organza and BLING
Little Red Wagon Challenge #131 ~Stitch it Up I added a faux stitching border around the edge of my card.
365 Cards Day 19 ~ All the Trimmings use 3 diff types of trim I have 2 types of ribbon and 'trimmed' my image in lots of bling.
365 Cards Day 49 ~ Getting Inky find 2 uses for ink pad; I stamped my image in ink, and created clouds with a scalloped circle mask, a sponge and ink.
My Creation
Image Detail
To create the cloud background, I stamped my image on a sticky note and carefully cut it out (basic outline, not exact) to make a mask over the image. I punced out a scalloped circle and placed it over my mask. I used a sponge and an ink pad to ink around the top of the scalloped circle randomly moving it across the panel until I was happy with the cloud 'concentration'. LOL

Stamps: SU Easter Blossoms
Paper: SU CS (Very Vanilla, Wasabi, Soft Suede), SU Springtime Vintage DP
Ink: SU (Soft Suede, Marina Mist); Memento Summer Sky; Silver Spica

Easter Golfer

It's only a week until Easter - WAHOO! Spring is just a joyous time and offers such promise for renewal. This week at One Stop Crafts we are challenging you to link up your Easter cards. One winner will receive a credit to Kenny K. Have you seen his images? They are so sassy and fun! I didn't have any 'obvious' Easter images, but was able to get a bit creative with his golfer dude. We hope you have a chance to play along! I'm already playing catch up at 365 Cards and had to pile a few challenges into one card to try and catch up a little bit!

Image Detail
I used my go to Copics to color my golfer dude.
I tried to be clever and create a few golf balls with my dots embossing folder. Did I fool you?
Inside
I don't think there's room in my scrap bucket so I used my BG scraps to decorate the inside of my card. I was able to squeeze one more golf ball out of my embossed panel as well.

Mini Easter Treat Box

Wahoo! Spring has sprung in MN, in fact it’s been busting out all month. We’ve had several record breaking WARM temps, I’ve had my first frizz head humidity moments and I think I’ll have to get the lawn mower out and put away the snow shovels. What a treat it will be for Easter egg hunts! We typically have to stash eggs in snowbanks or mud pits; this is a welcome change.

Today I want to share with you this adorable treat box I made at a craft class our library offers once a month. Thanks to the world of die cutting machines, this was super easy to pull together. Perfect for a stash of jelly beans or chocolate eggs; providing I don’t snitch too many before the official holiday!

My Creation
I snipped some handmade 'fringe grass' to nestle the eggs in.

Stamps: SU Inspired by Nature, Nature Walk
Paper: SU (Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze)

Razzleberry Easter Girl

I love, love, LOVE Stampin’ Ups Rich Razzleberry. I’m a purple addict and this is purple completely RAZZed up. It pairs with pinks or other purples beautifully. Today I’m sharing a Easter Card featuring a handmade flower. Hey, did you know handmade flowers are the challenge this week at One Stop Crafts? What a coincidence! Okay, not really since I’m on the Design Team. I hope you pop over to see what my incredible teamies came up with and join in the fun.

Image and Flower Detail
I added little 'gems' to the center of my embossed flowers and the little girls hair.
My flower is made of a simple iris folding technique. Each ‘petal’ is a circle of 2 sided designer paper with the ‘corners’ (do circles have corners) folded in. It’s a really easy technique that adds some punch to your cards and LOTS of dimension.
