‘Love’ly Owl

Another SU card kit creation ~ I'm on a roll! Actually, I'm just trying to use up supplies before I buy more. I don't always get to go to my friend's card workshops, but I'll buy the kit of supplies. I have several kits piled up in a corner. These really fly together since everything is already cut for me. WAHOO!

Fishy Love for a Wedding

Another quick card using the supplies from a SU card kit. I had a little problem with the pigment metallic inks. I never let it dry long enough before I touch the images. I need to work on patience!

I tweaked the sketch a bit as I'm using card kits from a card class.

Inspiration
This mailbox makes me think of the movie The Lake House. Remember how Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves left each other letters in the mailbox at the lake?
I'm in the midst of a bit of ugliness in my personal life. This card represents my attitude for the New Year. No matter what others may try to throw at me, I will continue to stay positive and emit loving thoughts into the universe.

Engineer Julian

I’m late with my brother-in-law’s birthday card (he’s a Dec. 23rd baby and it never fails that my brain is otherwise occupied). I’m still in love with Mo Manning’s digi stamps and used another for this card. So far they’ve been the best Christmas present I bought for myself!

Julian works for the railroad and received his engineer’s certificate (now sure what it’s called, but he’s legal to drive the choo-choos). I debated making a ‘nice’ card or one that shouts the fact it was his 40th birthday; but since mine is quickly approaching; I opted for being nice. I’ll let my hubby write a ‘special’ comment on the inside of the card. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Kitty Love for Sue

I’m in love with Mo Manning’s artwork (check out her store HERE)! I’m still experimenting in the world of Digi Stamps and her designs are so fun to play with. As mom to seven fur babies, I HAD to get her Cat Love image. When we were called to TX for my grandma-in-law’s funeral, I relied on my dear friend, and fellow cat lover, Sue to tend to ‘da herd. We made a Texas Treats Thank You Gift Basket for her and I needed a card. I couldn’t get 7 cat images on the card, so they are represented by the seven tear drops. It was so much fun to make and fairly quick and easy.

I’m finally caught up on my blog reading list and was inspired by so many great challenges. I can’t believe I combined TWELVE in this one simple card. I’ve added a note after each challenge explaining how my creation fits and added the links so you can join in the fun. This is only card #2 for 2010, but I hope to get caught up this weekend and then stick to my goal of a card a day. I have about 10 cards on my list that need to be made, so the only challenge is to make the time.

Changito Work Anniversary Card

I apologize for being MIA for a few weeks. I am so happy to bid farewell to 2009 and welcome in 2010. My husband’s grandmother passed away December 12th which resulted in a whirlwind driving trip from MN to TX. Toss in the holidays and a case of the crud, and crafting wasn’t making the list. My goal is to make a card a day for 2010 (I’m already 4 cards behind). Hmm, maybe I should adjust that goal. I’m really just hoping for a nice boring year. Last year my husband and I lost 5 immediate family members. Our hearts have been heavy for awhile and I’m seriously struggling with the loss of my mom in September. The ‘good’ news is I’ll be 40 in 2010, the bad news, is that both of my parents will be watching their baby celebrate from heaven. Okay, enough of that.

I’m determined to have a very positive year and will roll with whatever is thrown my way. One of my supervisors is celebrating his 20 year anniversary with the company. I wanted to make a card, or course, and challenged myself to use only what was sitting out on my workspace (I’m still slowly getting the studio set up so everything is scattered). This was the only image I had pres-tamped that might actually work for the occasion. I love Changito and tried to make him look as ‘manly’ as possible. Thankfully even though I’ve been missing from the craft world, the awesome challenges continue. I was happy to adapt a few for my first card of the year. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Inspiration
I just bought a FUN box of preprinted square cards. I used one for the base – the brown dots are yummy!
I love the dots on the base of the card.
