Sweet Treat Turkey

We were blessed with a STELLAR weather day in southern Minnesota. The temp showed 76F this afternoon, pretty nice for mid November. While we ran errands I saw LOTS of tank tops, shorts and flip flops. Tomorrow may bring out the snow boots and sweatshirts. The cold front is moving in with cool rain right now. We should have normal weather by turkey day.

This week over at One Stop Crafts we are having an Anything Goes challenge! Always a favorite among crafters and my DT friends and I LOVE to see the creations everyone comes up with. Hop on over and share your creation with us.

The candy is crunchy and a nicely crisped turkey gives a yummy crunch. :o)

Matchbook Christmas

The countdown to Christmas is upon us. I’ve seen several posts on Facebook that WalMart released their Black Friday sales flyer, which is only two days away ACK! Mr. Gears and I are pretty easy when it comes to holiday shopping. We focus on the gathering part of the holidays and not so much on the gift giving piece. It seems all our adult friends have more than enough stuff in their house and the kids can barely walk across their bedroom without stepping on a toy. I can assure you I won’t be anywhere near Walmart or any other store Thanksgiving weekend. Well, unless there’s a REALLY awesome craft sale. :o)

Here’s a card using an older stamp set from my stash. I have a pack of pre-scored matchbook cards in Wild Wasabi from a random sale years ago. I thought it would work nicely for a holiday card and if I want to tuck in a gift card or some cash, it would stay put in the fold.

My Dad’s a Tool

Hello! I’m taking a break from seasonal cards to share a Dad card. This is a fun way to be creative with your stamps; often the image can resemble a letter. In this case the tape measure is rotated to form a ‘d’. I’m going to use this as a Father’s Day card, but it could just as easily be for a birthday or other special dad moment.

masculine card with a tie on it – does my ‘tied’ knot count?
use a quotation and image that fits it, my quote ‘love beyond measure’ certainly applies to my dad

Clown Celebration

Have I mentioned that Mr. Gears is a real, live clown? It's no joke, he's a member of the Shrine Funsters and has more make up than me. We are creeping up on the big Shrine Circus in Minneapolis, MN so things are a bit goofy around our house. I was initially inspired by the color inspiration we're holding at One Stop Craft's. As soon as I saw the inspiration picture I thought of the bright, fun colors of the circus.

I LOVE Rick St. Dennis images, the clowns and kitties are my favorites
I was inspired by the colors and the ROUNDness of the rings
I’m stretching this a bit. I know balloons make a loud noise when they pop, and clowns make all kinds of funny noises when they perform.

Clean and Simple Halloween Trio

These Halloween/Fall Cards have one thing in common. They were all QUICK, CLEAN and SIMPLE! Not a style I excel at, but it was very gratifying to complete them so quickly. Well, once the images were colored. I don't take into account my color therapy. :) I will color away while watching TV most evenings. This is great for stress relief but I tend to get a pile of colored images that don't always make it to a card until days, months, even YEARS later. I hope these inspire you to try the CAS road.

Reading Witch

I have a few more Halloween cards to share before I put the supplies away. This girl was one of the many who was colored up last year and didn't land on a card until now.
