Showers of Love

I'm on a Spring kick today, this is my third spring inspired creation. I did stash an umbrella in my van this week, but it was pushed aside for the snowbrush. Maybe next week I'll get to open it up. This adorable image is from Nana Vic and you can get it FREE by playing along with the Progressive Challenge over at CDAC. I'm so proud of myself for making a card relatively early in the 3 month challenge. Now to get the next image and keep creating!

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

First I added Liquid Pearls to the umbrella's dots and then I added a layer of Glossy Accents. I doodle the raining hearts with liquid pearls and drew the lines in with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

Watercolor Wheat Ombre

I'm still focusing on blue skies and thinking happy thoughts to melt the snow away. We are in a drought, so I'm focusing on the earth absorbing the much needed moisture and not the snow on my toes. We are having a Spring/Pastels Colors challenge this week over at One Stop Crafts Card Challenge. Think peaceful pastels and come create with us!

I seldom play with watercolors, but I fell in love with the technique again. Ombre is a hot trend and water-coloring lends perfectly to it. I watercolored the blue background and stamped over it once the paper was dry. I used Liquid Pearls for an added pop to my wheat grass.
Inside
I made the card for a special man in my life going through a challenge time. I just wanted to let him know I'm thinking of him and holding him close in love and prayer.

Baby Blue Linky Party at ATS

Welcome to the weekend! It's a lovely day in southern Minnesota; well at least it quit snowing. We've had a week long spring rain/sleet/ice/snow storm. Very pretty, but we are anxious to see spring flowers and blue skies. To help get me in the mood, I'm celebrating the new linky party at All That Stickles. For the next two weeks we are looking for Baby Blue Stickles creations.
I hope you can play along, you could win one a prize from one of our amazing sponsors.

I was thrilled to use an image from Fresh Brewed Designs and a tag kit from The Robin's Nest. I'm thinking spring! This is the first kit I've played with from The Robin's Nest. They make it SO easy to create. The kit came with tags, ribbon, dew drops, and stickers. I added an image, but could have easily created the tag with the supplies provided. I needed a little Bluebird of Happiness this week.

Waiting for Spring

The calendar changed to April and I know Spring will arrive in southern Minnesota pretty soon. The snow is almost gone, the sun starting to shine, and the temps are TRYING to get out of the 30s. For now I will hold off on the sandals and keep wearing a jacket. In the meantime I will warm things up with Spring cards. I had a few issues with this one. I enlarged the digi to focus just on the girl. Mid-coloring, I realized I turned the flower into a sleeve. I purposefully colored her to have a covered arm and tummy (most crafters color her with a bare tummy). I'm guessing if I didn't point it out, you wouldn't even notice; but it's all I can see. See what I mean......

Here's the first version of the card.
I'd printed an extra flower (the full one that became the sleeve cuff) for an accent, but where to put it?
Do I place it over the sleeve oops?
Photo bombed by my helper's, Zoe, tail.
How about placing a flower in her hair? I think I like it! Pulls your eye away from the sleeve.

Here's a close up of the Liquid Pearl and Crystal Effects accents.
The card was originally created for a recipe challenge over at One Stop Card Crafts.

Easter Sparkle

Easter was early this year, so that means I can be late sharing a few Easter cards.....right? :) I love Easter Avery from The Paper Nest Dolls. I had so much fun coloring her and then went to town with my Stickles to give her a patterned dress. I'm practicing my background technique for outdoor images to add clouds and grass. Slowly, but surely, I'll get it figured out. LOTS of great inspiration out there in blogland, please check out the list of inspiration after the photos and click to join in the fun.
