CAS Sympathy with Rub Ons

This sketch from 365 Cards has been haunting me since March; actually most of the white space sketches have that affect on me! I'm not sure why, but I will find myself dreaming of 'solutions' to Pam's challenges for weeks before something clicks. My card is much simpler than I'd typically create and I'm itching to add more elements or patterns, but I'm just walking away. :o)

I applied the butterfly to a scrap piece of cardstock and then trimmed around it and adhered it with a pop up dot to give a bit of dimension.

Baby Girl House Mouse

This card is all about feeling pink and girly. My House Mouse stamps are often neglected and I love them so. I recently made a boy baby card and thought as long as the stamp was still on my work space to give a girly card a try. So much great inspiration out there to guide me!

This might be a stretch, but I kept hearing the kids rhyme “First come loves, then comes marriage, then comes mommy with a baby carriage.” So I guess my card represents AFTER the wedding.

Citrus Fairy


I’ve had this amazing digi image from Michelle Perkett Studios for awhile and finally got the chance to play with her. Isn’t she just gorgeous? She’s designed perfectly for color enthusiasts like me. She’s sponsoring the color challenge over at Crafter’s Digital Art Center so I wanted to honor her by playing with one of her images. This color combo looks so yummy on the cake and makes me think of rainbow sherbet. YUMMY!

Remember my sherbet comment? I’ve been craving it ever since I saw the challenge posted a few weeks ago. I always get the rainbow container and then scoop all the lemon and orange sections out. Mr. Gears is fine taking care of the strawberry and lime portions of the rainbow.

Whazzup Chica


It’s been so fun over at Crafter’s Digital Art Center and I finally get to play with some of the challenges. I’m down to the wire, but I think I’m going to become a complete digi stamp convert. If so, there will be a major sale of the baskets full of real rubber in my studio. I find I’m using digital almost all the time. I love being able to size the image to my needs and I never mess up the stamping part (I can never stamp straight or get a solid image it seems). The only tricky part has been finding the right paper to run through my printer (some of the cardstocks meant for Copics are too thick and will either jam or streak in my printer). I have to warn you, starting to play with digis can get addictive. There are lots of freebies over at CDAC, so take the plunge and play.

Royal Fairy Friend

I had another sweet reading fairy from Elizabeth Dulemba printed out and wanted to give her a home. I have so many book lovers in my life I know she’ll find a new home soon. Ah, my FAVORITE color combination – purple and green. They are just so regal and calming. I had fun creating a few of my own embellishments – I hope you like it!

The grid in the background makes me think of books an the circles are the happy faces reading them.

Image Detail
I colored my girl with Copics and added Stickles to her wings for added glitz.
My large faux button is just layered circles with a few dew drops added as ‘holes’. The smaller buttons (the kind without holes) were made with large clear Dew Drops. I adhered them to DP scraps (with a large glue dot) and then just trimmed off the excess. Custom buttons to match my paper – ta da!

Inside
I used the leftover pieces of my DP and added a sticker sentiment.

House Mouse Birthday in Red White & Blue


Yowza, I’m actually playing in the current House Mouse and Friends Challenge instead of playing catch up. The theme this fortnight was Birthdays. I didn’t start out with the intention of making it a patriotic birthday card, but it fits even better as the challenge was also the DT’s way of saying Happy Birthday to member America (who’s birthday happens to be July 4th).

Baby Boy House Mouse

My baby card stash is running low so it seemed the perfect reason to play with some of my favorite mice. I have a stash of images I've stamped out and just need to color. I keep them (and my Copics) next to my favorite TV viewing spot. It can be tricky with the help of my cat herd, but I can get several images colored up during a movie and don't feel quite as guilty for staring at the black box for a few hours. Some times I only get one image done, or partially colored, as the kitty herd seems to take turns jumping up for snuggles. I could push them aside, but petting them always calms me and makes me feel loved. Plus I can usually work in a slight brushing (until they run away). Six cats in a house makes for lots of flying fur!
