Grateful Flower Box

Wahoo for Wednesday bloggie friends! I completely forgot to share some exciting news. I was asked to write a bi-weekly feature over at the All that Stickles blog. You may have noticed my LOVE of the product and how I tend to use just about every color on my creations. My DT leaders are in love with the technique so we've created Pile Up Wednesdays.

Click over to the All that Stickles blog to see the full details of this card. You might get inspired and hopefully will pick up a few tips and tricks along the way. Today is my second post in the series.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
We have a Nature/Outdoors Linky Party going on at ATS so I created a card that would be welcome at the party. You have until Friday to join in the fun.

Image Detail
I added Stickles and Glossy Accents to the image for lots of texture and dimension.
I added free squeezed a squiggle of Glossy Accents over the preprinted verse. I'm in LOVE with the way the squiggle turned out.

Inspiration
Monday Lunchtime Sketch #277 I used the basic sketch elements but made my card landscape.
Alphabet Challenge ~ N for Newest Stampor Decoupage This is the newest digi in my collection and I was THRILLED to play with it right away.
Stampin for the Weekend Challenge ~Butterflies The butterfly was originally flitting by the flowers but I fussy cut it out and added it to the sentiment.
365 Cards Day 149 ~ Word Wednesday: Shining Do you see the shine in my window? Between that and the glitter you might need shades!
365 Cards Day 236 ~ Rainbowish (colors without actual image) I was inspired by rainbow stripes and LOTS of color. Granted I went with the paler end of the colors, but they are all there.

Dotty Birthday

Hello all, I have a fun card to share with some not so fun news. This is for the Spots and Dots challenge going on over at One Stop Crafts. This will be our last challenge as we will close our doors once the winner's are posted. I'm ever so grateful to the amazing Shelly at OSC for giving me my first real design team experience. I've loved getting to know the other DT members and will working with them. Thankfully the world of blogging will keep us all connected.

I created this card for my 12 year old god daughter. She's past the princess stage but still a kid so I wanted to make something girly but not completely kid-ish. Twelve was a big milestone for her as she is allowed to get her ears pierced AND sit in the front seat of the car. I thought I should reinforce the age with a glittery 12 on the card.

I hope you take a moment to stop over at OSCC to play in our final challenge.

Image Detail
I embossed the large numbered background stamp in white embossing powder on white cardstock. I created a stencil using various punches and dies and then sponged the circles in random colors.
The verse is also embossed white on white and then inked with pink and cut out. Some random pearls and bling and the sparkly 12 and this is ready to send out. With a gift card for some ear ring shopping. :o)

Udderly Awesome

Hello there! I LOVE Doodle Pantry images and am always excited when I have time to play along with their monthly challenges. I needed a thank you card for some sweet friends who put us up during a recent vacation. The dad has a think for cows and I knew the Moo Sheep was perfect for their card. Mr. Gears and I hadn't seen the family since 2005 when the girls were our flower girls. Our lives took us hundreds of miles away from each other and I made it my mission to visit them this year. Mission accomplished!

Here are my girls in 2005 as the cutest flowergirls EVER! I've been part of their lives since the oldest was 6 months old. I started out as mom's coworker friend who offered to babysit and quickly became family.
We haven't change at all, right?

I am blessed to have this family in my life and can't wait to see them again!

Why Cherry Berry?  Well, we'd never been to one before and they treated us to our first experience! Here my god daughter photo bombed the shot - I love it!

1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Back to school is just around the corner, and what better way to start off the school year then with a bit of sparkle?! Today the design team is showcasing all sorts of glittery back to school projects that kiddos and teachers will love!

If you've come from Chas's blog, you're in the right place! If you have just come across the hop and would like to start from the beginning, please visit All that Stickles.

For my project, I made a locker mirror. I picked up this basic green flower in the 70% off bin (was originally $2.99) and knew I could do something with it. It's made from fun foam and it's not a real mirror, but as you can see my frizzy head peeking behind Mr. Nut, it has a great reflection!
Here's a close up taken at an angle so I can really hide. The mini chalkboard is from Hobby Lobby and came in a pack of 6. There are clips on the back so you can attach them anywhere. I added a magnet to the back so it can stick on the locker and hold a note or photo. I outlined the mirror in Crystal Stickles and added some Platinum Ice Stickle dots for interest.
I free-squeezed the A+ with the Platinum Ice Stickles.
This Bugaboo image is perfect for back to school I colored him with Copics and did a Pile Up of Stickles on the books.
A quick, easy and THRIFTY project that will look great inside a girl's locker. Now to decide who to give it to.......

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday August 21st at All that Stickles.

OSC Sister Gold in Her Hair

Hi there and welcome to Saturday! Do you like my twist on the classic song by America? I couldn't stop humming it after I added a bit of golden glitter to my image. I'm really pleased with the overall look of my card. We have a new challenge over at One Stop Crafts and this week we are looking for you to add some stripes. I used a striped DSP for my background and another piece with subtle stripes on it for the white layer. There are pale blue script that make their own line.I hope you hop on over and play along!

I wanted to add a bit of sparkle to my image and opted to use just one color of Stickles and go outside the normal color bound. The Platinum Stickles added just the perfect highlight and pop to her hair. I like it there even more than on the flowers.
A really cool effect I'm certain to use again.

Pretty Pastel Chicky

Hello there! How are all my friends in blog land? I had a busy weekend hosting my hubby's Funsters group at our annual city celebration. He's a real clown and this was the last parade of the season. Our yard was a flurry of make up, clown noses, and lots of laughter! A really great group of guys and it was nice to have their families join us for the afternoon. Here's Mr. Gears.

I know I'll get boo-ed, but I'm actually looking forward to summer ending. I do prefer cool weather but it seems the busy-ness of summer keeps me from spending time in the craft studio. Hopefully things will slow down so I can get back to crafting. :o)

I have a sweet little chick to share with you today. We are having a Pastel Colors challenge over at One Stop Crafts this week and the fabulous Ellenphantastic is our sponsor. I used their image Chicky to make my card.

My Creation

Image Detail
I colored the image with Copics, added bits of stickles to the outlines and applied a layer of Crackle Glaze over the egg shell. I really like the effect on the cracked egg and have to remember it when I use similar images.
I was too lazy to go upstairs and cut a circle on my Cuttlebug, so I got creative with what was nearby. I'd just received a Stampin Up order with this mini scalloped punch in it. I punched several circles and adhered them in the shape of a larger circle. I actually think it's a cool effect. I got layers and dimension. I took it up a notch by adding faux stitching to the edges of each circle, and also on the circle in the card base. I generous layer of stickles over the accent gives shine and texture.
Inspiration
I have dimension by popping up my image and creating my own circle die cut, an added layer of Stickles gives it more oomph.
I created a larger circle by punching out several small circles.

On Fire for Stickles

Hello friends! I'm so glad you stopped by today, we have some EXCITING stuff going on over at All That Stickles. There's a NEW linky party, NEW Design Team Members, and a few new features. Hop over to check it out. We are having an Anything Goes with Stickles Linky Party for the next two weeks. Our challenges will now be a theme challenge instead of a specific color of Stickles. We want to make sure everyone can join in the fun while they are expanding their Stickles collection.

I apologize for being late to the party. I'm still in vacation mode and finally got my laptop unpacked. I used an image from one of our amazing sponsors, Bugaboo. You can link up your crafty project using Stickles from now until August 16th for the chance to win one of these amazing monthly prizes.

Lots of Candles

Hello all! I am SO far behind on my crafting. I had the opportunity to take the vacation of a lifetime and didn't pass it up. My mom's sisters decided to do a follow up to their sister's weekend from several years ago. I was honored to attend that and while my mom has since passed away, I was invited to the latest adventure. To make it even better, my two uncles decided to join us as well. It was a once in a lifetime road trip with beloved family. I'm still catching up on sleep and trying to get the rest of my life back on track. :)

Here's the card I made for last week's challenge at the OSC, ribbon and flowers. I made a flower out of ribbon!
