Sky High Celebration

Hello blog friends! I hope you are enjoing a day of sunshine and love! It's Memorial Day weekend in the states and we are remembering and honoring those who have sacrificed greatly for their country. It's a no work day for most of us and I've spent the day resting. I apologize for my tardiness in posting for One Stop Crafts. I found myself in the ER Saturday with a case of vertigo. This is the oddest illness I've ever had. I feel fine, until I start to move. Then the whole world goes topsy turvy. I'm grateful to have an extra day at home to rest and fell a bit better, but am still pretty wobbly. I'm brave enough to blog, but I don't know if I'm brave enough to pick up a scissors to really craft! LOL.

This card is so quick and easy, perfect for any theme. I used masculine colors and a masculine image to create a male birthday card. The basic idea could be used for any occassion. Use bright colors and a floral image and tailor it for a female birthday, thank you, or anything.

Coffee Chit Chat

This card was so quick once I just sat down to make it. I'd had the image in my colored basked for awhile and wanted a card for one of my BFF's who shares a love for coffee. By using a preprinted card base the colors and layout just fell into place. I added a few embellies and voila - a cute card for one of my favorite chicas!

Diggin’ Birthday for Eli

This card was created for our friends little boy, Eli, on his 3rd birthday. Eli is ALL boy and loves to play rough and get dirty. The last time Mr. Gears went to visit, he and Eli played rodeo and took turns tying each other up with a jump rope. The go to game is to play with anything that has wheels and a motor. Mr. Gears is HAPPY to oblige!

FANtastic Birthday Mice

I'm a serious House Mouse & Friends fan. They were one of the first rubber stamps I purchased and my collection has grown and grown and grown. I keep thinking I should purge my collection but they are all so gosh darn cute, I can't decide! It seems the best thing to do is....make cards with them!

There are several 'spicy' mice versions and this one cracked me up. The FANtastic sentiment was a freebie from TLC Creations. It was PERFECT for this image. I used up a few scraps and was able to pull inspiration from several challenge blogs. I'm already way behind at 365 Cards so I had to 'merge' a few of them into one card. :o)

Green Monochrome Madness

Wahoo for the weekend! That means a new challenge over at One Stop Crafts. This week Shelly challenged the Design Team to go monochorme with the option of ribbon. Bugaboo is our sponsor and gave the team super cute images to play with. We'd love to have you join in the monochrome madness and have the chance to win Bugaboo images. Here's the inspiration for my creation and my take on the challenge. I was about to go with a blue theme (kind of my go to thought with a rainy day, get well theme) but I pushed myself to use green; a color I seldom choose. I was very pleased with the result; I hope you are inspired!

MyTime to Craft Challenge #179 ~ Happy Healing I thought it was fun to create a 'green' card for someone feeling a bit green around the gills!

I wanted to add sheen to the ubmrella and boots, but couldn't find my crystal effects. But, right next to me was a bottle of clear nail polish. It worked great to slick things up. I used stickles and glitter stickers to add some extra shine. I free handed polka dots on the boots.

Spring Flower Girl

Hello crafty friends! I was about to clean off my desk and realized I hadn't made very many Easter cards. I used my SU Easter Blossoms set to craft a card that could be used for general spring themes, or even Mother's Day. I love this little girl with her basket and thought the gems were a fun touch. A card just isn't complete without a little bling!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #131 ~Stitch it Up I added a faux stitching border around the edge of my card.
365 Cards Day 19 ~ All the Trimmings use 3 diff types of trim I have 2 types of ribbon and 'trimmed' my image in lots of bling.
365 Cards Day 49 ~ Getting Inky find 2 uses for ink pad; I stamped my image in ink, and created clouds with a scalloped circle mask, a sponge and ink.
My Creation
Image Detail
To create the cloud background, I stamped my image on a sticky note and carefully cut it out (basic outline, not exact) to make a mask over the image. I punced out a scalloped circle and placed it over my mask. I used a sponge and an ink pad to ink around the top of the scalloped circle randomly moving it across the panel until I was happy with the cloud 'concentration'. LOL
