Peachy Kitty Tilda

Talk about working outside one’s comfort zone. Peach is not a color I ever use. I don’t even enjoy the fruit that much. So when I saw the challenge at 365 Cards for a ‘primarily peach’ card, I was stumped. Thankfully I spent the day at a friends yesterday stamping and stole a few pieces of her paper stash. This is as close to peach as I could get. I had fun playing with Tilda and making her 3D. Of course I love all things kitties, so the card redeemed itself a bit. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Magnolia Weekly Challenge #19
My Creation
Image Detail I hope to pick up some silicone and try the awesome 3D layering technique posted on the Magnolia blog. Not sure where to find it. I compromised and used layers of glue dots, mono adhesive and pop up dots to get varying dimension.

Baby House Mouse for Trysten

I was first inspired for this card back in May when the sketch was posted. The images were colored in time for the House Mouse multiple images challenge. It took until now to get it completed. I’m sure Trysten’s mom will still love it, even though her newborn is now 3 months old. I’m not sure why it takes me so long to complete some things. I can understand putting off cleaning the bathroom, but crafting? I’m usually always up to task for ‘play time’. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Sweet Stop Sketch
Color Inspiration ~ From Courtney’s Closet #53 I copped out and just pulled the blue for the inspiration.

Thinking of You Angel

This has to be one of my favorite color combinations. I’m a purple girl at heart, and browns, creams and greens compliment it beautifully. The papers are all DCWV from the Latte Stacks. I’m definitely going to have to stock up on them in case they are ever discontinued. So gorgeous and rich! Hip Granny Panties

I was so excited to see Archiver’s carries some of the Our Craft Lounge line. I’ve enjoyed blog hopping with them and finally was able to pick up a set of their stamps. Granny cracked me up the first time I saw her, so she had to be my initial purchase (it was nice to have a discount store coupon as well). (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Our Craft Lounge August Sketch
Color Inspiration ~ Charisma Cards #33 ~ Lemon, Green and Pink The greens really gave me a work out. I don’t have the appropriate Copic to match the paper I picked out. I did the best I could and had to add a touch of purple for Granny’s hair.
Inspiration 365 Cards Day 159 ~ Setting a Scene Indoors I drew in the walls and floors and added a hanging lamp to complete the scene. 365 Cards Day 171 ~ Tuesday’s Trio: Triangle, Sticker, Button The triangle comes from the sketch, the button is to balance out the lamp and Granny’s necklace features a sticker gem. CCEE Stampers ~ Grandma Overboard My Granny went a little overboard (using the extreme zealousness definition) trying to find a pair of matching panties for her dress. She had a bit of a ‘panty party’; no white granny panties here!

Elzybells Sheep Celebration

When I saw this sketch it made me think of my cute trio of sheep ready to party. I had this cute card to send out after I bought a gift magazine subscription. Of course, I’d made my own card and found this under a stack of papers. I though it would quick to alter into a personalized card and I was right! Scroll down to see the before and after photos. As usual, I was able to combine a few challenges while having fun. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Image Detail The photo doesn't quite capture it, but I used my white gel pen to add 'swirls' to the sheep's coats.

The sentiment is part of this cute set from Elzybells. In case you can't see it, it says "Let's party 'til the cows come home.'
Here's my 'recylced' elements. The card on the right is pretty cute as is, but I wanted to cover it up (I have no other plans to send out American Girl as a gift). The card on the left is what I came up with.
I just covered up the preprinted parts with DP and VOILA, you'd never know it was recylced.

MoJo Christmas House Mouse

The weather may be warm in many areas, but hard core crafters are already well into their Christmas list. I’m not one of them. I’m more the type to pull an all nighter on December 23rd to make my Christmas cards. However, since there were several Christmas in August challenges this week, I decided to jump in. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Starting School House Mouse

I used to LOVE going to school and the start of the school year was always a celebration. In a few weeks one of my god daughters will start Kindergarten. It's a big day for all of us as she's the oldest of 3 children. I wanted to play in the Back to School challenges out there but don't have any 'true school' stamps. I got a bit creative and made this card to symbolize how my sweet girl is about to 'fly' into a new adventure. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Sketch & Stash #17 Use the sketch and something new from your stash. I just got this GREAT Basic Grey paper stack last week. So excited to cut it up!

Walk in the Garden

I'm trying to get back into my creative groove and was thrilled to actually use one of the Basic Grey paper packs I recently bought (on clearance, of course). Girly Snoopy for Susie

Wahoo! I finally had a chance to get back to my craft studio. My personal life is pretty crazy right now, but I NEED my crafting to de-stress. My card is a bit late, as the recipient’s birthday was August 9. I picked up this stamp on clearance from Hobby Lobby and knew it would be perfect. Susie is a big Harley Davidson fan so I’m always looking for motorcycle type supplies. My hubby found the stickers (also on clearance at Hobby Lobby) and knew I ‘had’ to have them. It’s great to have such a supportive hubby for my crafts. He’s even been known to walk through Hobby Lobby by HIMSELF to see if there are any great deals. I know; I’m very blessed. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Midnight Madness #15 Another winner from Priscilla that makes crafting easy!
Color Inspiration Caardvarks myStampBox Challenge ~ Black, White, Hot Pink I LOVE the way the pink pops with the black and white. Snoopy is such a cool dude, he doesn’t mind riding on a hot pink bike. I added the slightest hints of yellow as I didn’t know what else to do with Woodstock. There’s a bit of yellow highlights in the gas tank as well. Image Detail I used Spica’s throughout the image to add some sparkle.
I jazzed up my plain white ribbon with a string of silver cording. I just slid it under the knots before pulling them tight.
Inside It’s tricky to see the sparkly Harley Davidson sticker on the top. It was part of the sticker I used on the front. I just snipped them apart to get a double ‘feature’.

Cowgirl Courtney

My last post for little girl birthday cards (for now). This is for 8-year old (on Saturday) Courtney. She LOVES horses so I knew Ava from the Weiman Wrangler’s digital set would be perfect. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Paper Pieced Monkey for Nora

I really love this stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.

This is my second card using Cool Monkey and this time I let him smile. My dear Nora turns 4 – TODAY – and is often referred to as a monkey because of her antics. She’s the middle child and her mom will agree that she’s the ‘wild thing’ of the family. I’m heading out this evening to help celebrate the big day. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Color Inspiration ~ 365 Cards Day 156 ~ Ad Inspired I pulled out the greens, reds and cream from the photo for my card.

Image Detail I paper pieced the monkey’s hair, face and eyes. I thought the teeth looked a bit odd in tan so I used my white gel pen to fill them in. I could have pieced them as well, but was to lazy to dig the stamp pad out again. :o)
