Flower Smiles

This card is another cheery pink creations. The new challenge at One Stop Crafts is to create a card with no sentiment. I thought it would be a quick DT creation for me, but I suddenly realized how often I add a little bit of words to the front of my card. I love the bright colors. Between the colors and flowers, I can't keep smiling.

Pink and Pearls Thank You

Splitcoast Stampers has a fun challenge each day in October to support breast cancer. I've had fun playing along with them. Today I'm sharing a card that is meant to be a Thank You for a caregiver. I was blessed to care for my mom throughout her cancer journey and spent the last 6 weeks of her life by her side. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else during this time. She told me how much it meant to her to have her only daughter with her and I treasure the days and hours we spent together.

Frankenstein Treat Box

Today I have a 'frightful' treat box to show you made with Stamping Up supplies. The box is made using the petal cone die for the Big shot. Just trim off the 'pointy cone ends' to create the base. Frank's face is made with punches.

Mini Altered Notebook

Are you like me and stocked up on school supplies from the clearance section of your favorite store? I love picking up composition books in any size. They are so easy to alter into a customized notebook to give as a gift or for your own special memories/notes. This project uses a small book; perfect to slip into your purse.

Kitty Cat Halloween

Halloween is quickly approaching and I've got several cute images colored. Now the challenge is to get them onto cards before next week. So far the calendar is full every night this week and that's after my full time job. I might need to brew some coffee and burn the midnight oil to get my craft on. :o) I love this image from Karen Doodles and kept everything pretty basic.

Inspirational Lighthouse

Some days are just tough. No way around it. Even if we try to keep our eyes lifted up and turn over our troubles to God, they can still be challenging. I've never been one to worry as I find it a waste of energy. Most often there is nothing I can do in a worry situation, so I try to use that energy for prayer. A simple reminder is that God tells us to just let today's challenges be enough and not to fret about tomorrows.

I've always loved Laurie's images at Doodle Pantry but seldom get them out. I wanted a masculine feeling card for a friend who is supporting his wife during her cancer journey. This image was perfect paired with a DP sentiment.

Girlfriend Coffee Chat

I am truly blessed to have excellent girlfriends in my life. They are the sisters I always prayed for. So many of their, and my own, lives have been touched by cancer. During October's Breast Cancer Awareness focus, I am reminded of how precious these women are and how grateful I am to call them friend. This card is dedicated to the women who have always stood by my with support, respect, and love.

I was inspired by the year 2010. After my mom died 9/15/09, I had to go through over a year of very difficult circumstances. If it weren’t the love and support of my friends (who I consider my true family); it would have been even more difficult.

Get Well Doily

Another card kit creation. The SU Medallion stamp has been a favorite since it came out, and the Doily sets are right up there. All the large background stamps are so versatile; I just have to remember to get them out and play!

First think about how you would describe yourself - all the different aspects of your personality. ~ Colorful, practical and plain with a touch of OCD (like things neat and organized).
Second, use that description to create a card that is the OPPOSITE of how you would describe yourself: Monochormatic (ack, it hurts to not use any color), frilly lace (too girly for me), and egads – is that wrinkled ribbon I see and ‘dirty’ distressed inking? So not fitting with my organized OCD tendencies.

This card was inspired by my crafty friend Karen during her stamp camp. She comes up with some great ideas that are far from my creative realm. I love the shabby feel of this card and the multiple layers.
