Quick and Simple Crayons

This card was pretty much inspired by the Freebie on The Paper Makeup Stamps Blog this week. They celebrate WordArt Wednesdays and share a free digi item. Hop on over to download your copy here. I’m kind of a quote freak (I have an Excel file with hundreds saved and categorized by theme) but this was new to me. I love it! (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Party Sheep for Jenna

Sparkle and glitz are my favorite way to dress up a card. My niece will be 17 next week and I’m struggling between cards that are too little girl or serious adult. Unless I find my mojo this weekend, this will be what she receives. It’s fun, sparkly AND in her school colors. There were lots of great challenges to keep me rolling. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
I’m ALWAYS inspired by Priscilla’s sketches.

House Mouse Holey Fishbowl

In my brain this seemed like a really cool way to interpret the Aperture Challenge at House Mouse & Friends, but I’m not sure it translated to reality as cool. An aperture is a hole or opening in the front of your card. I piled on a few other challenges as well to make it even trickier. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Bleached Out Witch

I don't often play with different techniques, so it was a stretch for me to break out the bleach. Not sure why I was inspired, but I did. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
I rotated the sketch for my card.
Inspiration
365 Cards Day 39 ~ Wacky Color Wednesday (Purple, orange and green) 365 Cards Day 202 ~ Once Upon a Time (take inspiration from a fairy tale) I went for more of the dark side of my favorite fairy tale, The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. I first fell in love with the movie and later the original book. Some of my favorite scenes involved the Wicked Witch. Pumpkin Squared

A super quick and easy Halloween card to share. I stamped the candy corn background to simulate designer paper and kept with a very clean and simple palette and layout. This would be easy to mass produce for any season. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Image Detail
I added Diamond Glaze to the pumpkin and Stickles to the candy corn for dimension.

Masculine Birthday Madness

I am always in need of masculine birthday cards. One would think that would push me to make more of them. I often struggle with them so I thought I'd really challenge myself by trying to use Halloween colors! Thankfully, there was lots of inspiration out there to help me along. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

I had a sheet of journaling stickers from Stampin Up and cut one down for the handwritten sentiment. 365 Cards Day 228 ~ The Same But Different (use the same patterned paper but in different colors) The background ‘squares’ are from a SU DP pack in matching patterns.

Madness at the Movies

I'll be back in the morning to post the full details but I'm down to the wire for the House Mouse Challenge. This time it was At the Movies. We were to create a card inspired by a movie title. It was a bit tricky for me to figure one out, but my wonderful hubby took on the task. I have him 10 random HM stamps and he had ideas for each one! I went with this cutie. My hubby's suggestion was "Field of Dreams" and I thought "A Raisin in the Sun" would also be appropriate! LOL. I'll be back with more details in the morning! ETA - Okay, I'm back with the full details and more photos. I love the sketches over at Midnight Madness and am always pushed to push my cards to a new level. There were a few other challenges I threw into the mix as well. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

“Feline” Mad for Halloween

I'd just been getting into the groove of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenges when things went all wonky. I hope to work back through the weeks I've missed and am dedicated to staying on top of the new challenges. I'm down to the last day on this, one but am please with what I came up with. It's always easier to create when I have such great inspiration. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Fluffles Ghostie

I LOVE the Fluffles line from Stampendous. I feel in love with the puffball cat when I saw him on other blogs and started acquiring a sweet collection. I bought this stamp after Halloween last year and was so excited to ink him up! (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

Inspiration Jacksonbelle Tuesday Challenge ~ Vellum I stamped the image on pink vellum and cut out the ghost costume.

365 Cards Day 222 ~ Pick 5 (put 5 things on your card – not including base) Hopefully I counted correctly – 2 Designer Papers (the candy were all cut out of one of the sheets), Vellum, Cording, Google Eyes. I figured the image was a given, if not, I blew it and have 6 items. Hmm, can I could the DPs as one? :o)

Penny Black Halloween

Wahoo! I'm back. It's been far too long since my fingers played with my craft supplies. Life has been beyond stressful as I've tried to take care of my mom's estate and still try find to start the grieving process. I was glad to spend Saturday escaping from reality and inking up paper. It might take awhile to get my groove back, but it's a start. I'm WAY behind on the 365 Card Challenges, but will try to work a few in with each of my creations. I might have to wait for 2010 to start fresh with their challenges. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
