Fall Surprise Card

Hello there friends! I'm sorry for the lack of posting of late. Life just keeps getting busier; no complaints other than it cuts into my blogging time. I'm staying super busy crafting but just don't get the projects shared out here.

Today I have a fun card to share. I took a 'surprise me' card class this week with my SU demonstrator and had a blast. I altered one of the cards to meet a few other challenges and because I needed something for my All That Stickles Pile Up post. I'm a glitter girl and Stickles are my go to for easy sparkle.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
The image is embossed with clear powder and then received a bit of Stickles. Since I was using SU standard ink, the embossing step keeps the ink from running when I add on the Stickles.

Are you ready for the surprise portion of the card?

Inside
Surprise! There's a cheery scarecrow and boy to cheer you! I colored the image in Copics and added copious amounts of Stickles.
The card base was cut using the SU Pop n' Cuts die. Before assembling the scene, I stamped some extra trees for background.
I cut fringe with some scraps of cardstock and added them around the image to imitate straw. Of course I had to add Distressed Scattered Straw Stickles to the fringe after I'd crumbled it a bit.
Here you can see the Stickles detail. I only used Distressed Stickles on the card so it's more of a texture than bling addition.

1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop

Welcome to the 1 + 2 = Stickles Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Back to school is just around the corner, and what better way to start off the school year then with a bit of sparkle?! Today the design team is showcasing all sorts of glittery back to school projects that kiddos and teachers will love!

If you've come from Chas's blog, you're in the right place! If you have just come across the hop and would like to start from the beginning, please visit All that Stickles.

For my project, I made a locker mirror. I picked up this basic green flower in the 70% off bin (was originally $2.99) and knew I could do something with it. It's made from fun foam and it's not a real mirror, but as you can see my frizzy head peeking behind Mr. Nut, it has a great reflection!
Here's a close up taken at an angle so I can really hide. The mini chalkboard is from Hobby Lobby and came in a pack of 6. There are clips on the back so you can attach them anywhere. I added a magnet to the back so it can stick on the locker and hold a note or photo. I outlined the mirror in Crystal Stickles and added some Platinum Ice Stickle dots for interest.
I free-squeezed the A+ with the Platinum Ice Stickles.
This Bugaboo image is perfect for back to school I colored him with Copics and did a Pile Up of Stickles on the books.
A quick, easy and THRIFTY project that will look great inside a girl's locker. Now to decide who to give it to.......

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday August 21st at All that Stickles.

Hop over to check it out. We are having an Anything Goes with Stickles Linky Party for the next two weeks. Our challenges will now be a theme challenge instead of a specific color of Stickles. I apologize for being late to the party. I'm still in vacation mode and finally got my laptop unpacked. I used an image from one of our amazing sponsors, Bugaboo. ATS Linky Party ~ Distressed Stickles Fun

Welcome to the weekend blog buddies! It's time for a new Linky Party at All that Stickles....for the next two weeks we are looking for creations using ANY color of Distressed Stickles. We have some more wonderful sponsors this month. I used an image from the FABULOUS Bugaboo Stamps.
I love their cute characters, but also enjoy their line of silhouette images. I went very clean and simple this week; and even Stickled up some photo clips I had gathering dust.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
I changed the image to turquoise in Microsoft Word so I didn't even have to get inky.
I put the card together and then added a thin layer of Stickles over the image. At first I tried to not cover the white paisley pattern, but that was impossible. Turns out by using a thin enough layer of Broken China Distressed Stickles, I was able to add texture and shine with the pattern shining through. I added Fired Brick to one of the paisley designs for a surprise pop of color.
I bought these two metal photo clips at Hobby Lobby in the clearance Spring section. They were already lovely, but I thought I could bump them up just a notch. I used Shabby Shutters Distressed Stickles on the butterfly and Milled Lavender Distressed Stickles on the bird. Now they are truly worthy of showing of my favorite snap shots. They are also perfect to display card creations!
I just followed the existing pattern.

ATS Rainbow Blog Hop

Happy St. Patrick's Day and welcome to the Rainbow Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Today we've put together a fun and of sparkly blog hop full of rainbow-themed projects! Whether the projects contain actual rainbows or just a rainbow color scheme is up to each DT member, but either way these colorful projects are sure to inspire you!

If you've come from Tonya's blog you're in the right place! If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit All that Stickles

For my rainbow project, I made a rainbow inspired birthday grouping.
All the elements are Stickled. The rainbow image was colored in Copics and then I layered them with a coordinating Stickles color. The Bugaboo verse was printed in color and then layered with Stickles.
I snagged this cute polka dotted journal in the dollar section at Target. I added baker's twine for fringe and Stickled up some of the dotted pattern and lettering.
Even the balloon got a bit of glitz. I outlined the letters with Diamond Stickles.

And of course we have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday March 20th at All that Stickles.
