ATS Firefly Whisper

Hello all! Apologize for the tardiness in posting my creation for the All that Stickles Firefly Linky party. My laptop is getting a tune up and I'm going through withdrawals! I can view my favorite blogs on my phone, but haven't figured out how to post anything. I'd better start practicing!

For the next two weeks we are looking for creations featuring Firefly Stickles. Firefly is such a fun cheery green color, perfect for summertime creations. I used an image from one of our awesome sponsors, Fresh Brewed Designs and pulled a verse from my stash. I'm sorry I can't remember who created it, I need to get better about writing that down when I print them.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

OSCC Cowgirl Up

Hello there! I need to apologize for the late posting of my DT creation for this week's challenge at One Stop Crafts. My laptop is getting a tune up and my smartphone is too smart for me to figure out how to create blog posts. Thankfully I can use my coffee break at work to update the old bloggo.

This week at OSCC we have the theme of 'For a Friend'. Pattie's Creations is our fabulous sponsor and gave the DT some adorable images to play with. Make sure to hop over to the main challenge page to see what my DT teammates created for your viewing enjoyment. I hope you find time to play along!

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=

ATS Star Spangled Blog Hop

Welcome to the Star Spangled Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

U

"Oh say can you see... by the gleam of Stickles. Oh so proudly we post, our patriotic projects" (if you sing it to the tune of Star Spangled Banner, we promise it makes sense ;)

In non-musical form: Today the All that Stickles design team has created a variety of patriotic-themed projects using our favorite sparkly embellishment - Stickles!

For my project, I made some fun favors for a Star Spangled Celebration.

One of my god daughters has a birthday near July 4th so we call her our Firecracker Baby. I plan to send these off to her for some fun mail.

I picked up some temporary tattoos in the dollar bin at Target and found the set of pinwheel straws at Target also. The 3 printed pinwheels came from Hobby Lobby and were on SALE since they are part of the summer products. Why have boring tattoos when you can Stickle them up?

I just doodled away with Christmas Red, Dark Blue and Diamond Stickles on the pinwheels and tattoos.
Now I have to come clean and share my oops's, yes we all have them. I don't have human children, just furry ones, so I didn't realize the tattos have to be placed image side DOWN on the skin to adhere. Oops #1, that's where I put the Stickles. So these will now be cute accents on a card or scrapbook page. I still think you can glitter up temporary tattoos, just wait until they are applied to the skin, use a VERY thin layer and help dry with a hair dryer.

Oops #2, so my furry children are plastic crazed. Anyone else with cats who chew on plastic? Ms. Dolly LOVES to play with straws and it was Mommy's fault for not hiding the pinwheel straws. I had them propped in a glass to dry overnight and it looks like 'someone' decided to try one of the straws out. I don't think this one will make the care package. LOL.

Oops #3, not really an oops since it happens with EVERY craft I make, but not only do I have Stickles enhancing my tattoos, there are a few stray cat hairs 'glued' in.

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday June 19th at All that Stickles.

ATS Linky Party ~ Distressed Stickles Fun

Welcome to the weekend blog buddies! It's time for a new Linky Party at All that Stickles....for the next two weeks we are looking for creations using ANY color of Distressed Stickles. We have some more wonderful sponsors this month. I used an image from the FABULOUS Bugaboo Stamps.
I love their cute characters, but also enjoy their line of silhouette images. I went very clean and simple this week; and even Stickled up some photo clips I had gathering dust.

Thanks for looking! Spicey Cat Chick =^..^=
My Creation
I changed the image to turquoise in Microsoft Word so I didn't even have to get inky.
I put the card together and then added a thin layer of Stickles over the image. At first I tried to not cover the white paisley pattern, but that was impossible. Turns out by using a thin enough layer of Broken China Distressed Stickles, I was able to add texture and shine with the pattern shining through. I added Fired Brick to one of the paisley designs for a surprise pop of color.
I bought these two metal photo clips at Hobby Lobby in the clearance Spring section. They were already lovely, but I thought I could bump them up just a notch. I used Shabby Shutters Distressed Stickles on the butterfly and Milled Lavender Distressed Stickles on the bird. Now they are truly worthy of showing of my favorite snap shots. They are also perfect to display card creations!
I just followed the existing pattern.
