Welcome to the Surf, Sun, & Stickles Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

We're in the midst of a heat wave and what better way to cool off then indoors crafting with some Stickles?! This month's hop is all about using Stickles on those fun, summer-themed projects we all love to create. 

For my project I made a Sand-sational Shadowbox.

 I had the kit from a craft club and it was pretty basic. I swapped out the paper from the kit for something more fun and added a blinged out image and embellishments.

The image is Mermaid Fun from Fresh Brewed Designs. I colored her with Copics and added lots of Stickles.

The embellishments are stickers from the kit. Did you know Distressed Scattered Straw Stickles looks like sand? I added it to the starfish and then sprinkled real sand on it while it was still wet.

 For the shells I colored them with Copics first to match my image and then did the same stickles and sand technique.

The sand really pops on the sandcastle!

Crafty Flag

Hi there, my second post for the day and another challenge over at One Stop Craft Challenge. This week we are creating our own backgrounds. There are lots of ways you can interpret the challenge, just think outside the standard designer paper box. For my card I inked up an embossing folder and then embossed my card. The result is an inked AND embossed panel. Add a few more pieces and I have an artistic flag. Put on your thinking cap and come and play with the design team.

Waterfall Linky Party Keeping You Cool

Hello and welcome to the weekend! We're coming off a week long heat wave and I'm ready for the cool down. This card depicts the common site around town this week. I dipped in the pool a few times but the lifeguards wouldn't let me bring along an ice cream cone. LOL. We are kicking off another 2 week party over at All That Stickles, this party features Waterfall Stickles.

My Creation

I used the adorable Betty image from Fresh Brewed Designs. I paired her with a sentiment from TLC Creations.

Image Detail

 What I love about Stickles is they can adapt to different colors. I used Copics to color the image, using blue-greens to color the water and more or a true blue for her hat. I used Waterfall Stickles on both blues. Since they are somewhat transparent the pick up the color of the blue below.

 I created a wave squiggle through the verse.

I LOVE this paper from the Robin's Nest, it has silver sparkle embedded into the pink. I added dew drops to my butterfly, also from Robin's Nest.

Ack! I think my brain has been fried by the summer heat. I didn't get a chance to schedule my One Stop Crafts post and now we are on the brink of a NEW challenge. I added Cotton Candy Stickles to the hearts and True Blue Stickles to the tie and mug. I colored the liquid lighter in the female mug and added a layer of Sepia Accents to both to give a true liquid look.
