Sunny Butterfly

If you’re a frequent blog stopper, you know how much I enjoy playing the weekly Midnight Madness sketch challenges. The brilliant mind behind that blog, Priscilla, has launched a digi forum here. Now’s the time to sign up as there are lots of freebies to be had from the sponsors. The whole forum is set up for digi lovers and those brave enough to try. I dragged my feet for quite awhile on digi stamps and am now rarely use my traditional sets. In another year or so I might be ready to cut the tie to traditional altogether. We’ll see how that goes, but for now I’m loving it! I took the butterfly Priscilla herself designed to make this card. I hope you pop on over and join us at.

Color Inspiration
Our Daily Bread Challenge ~ Blue Green Yellow (All or go monochrome with one)
Fussy and Fancy Friday #13 ~ Monochromatic with Wings
Craftalicious Challenge #2 ~ Monotone

Inspiration
Copic Creations Challenge #30 ~ Other Paper

Tip: I like using monochromatic themes, but often struggle to give the card a bit more 'punch'. A trick I like to use is altering the paper. In this card the original card base was actually cream and black. I used my Y11 Copic to color the cream parts soft yellow. Another trick I do is to add some 'pop' to monochromatic DP. I used a gel glitter pen to outline a few pieces of the floral design. It brings a whole new feel to the card with just a few tricks. See what I mean? The base is now yellow flourished and there are traces of glitter on the image mat.
