Butterfly Photo Card

My mom has a huge connection with butterflies, monarch's especially. I grew up searching for caterpillars so I could watch the transformation into Monarchs. At my dad's burial, there was a Monarch flitting around the crowd. Mom and I saw it and knew it was my dad saying hello (he passed very suddenly so we didn't have the chance to say good-bye). Since Dad's passing, Monarchs have even more significance for us since they usually show up just when we need a lift. Mom has been battling terminal cancer for the past 18 months and proudly tells her doctor she's passed her 'expiration date', since he told her most cases only leave 6-12 months of life. While I appreciate the care her doctor provides, I know her life is truly in the Master Physician's hands and He has a plan. I treasure each moment I have with mom and pray there are many more Mother's Days together. Okay, let's get to the card. Dannie has a fabulous Flutter By challenge that always inspires me. This week she provided the following picture as inspiration. In addition 365 Cards had a challenge to use a photo on your card. To be honest, I can't take much credit for this card. I just thought it was too pretty to keep to myself. My LSS card creator provided the kit (including photograph taken by her uncle). All I did was put it together and add my own touch (the rub ons). Photography is another hobby of mine and I have LOTS of pics of nature close ups, including Monarchs. Time to dig out the photos and play. I'm sure mom will love the card and hopefully it arrived in her mailbox today.
