House Mouse Love Mice

I always get stressed out when I make cards for people on request. I put so much pressure on myself to really try and make it ‘wow’ worthy. I do much better just creating for fun and if someone wants to buy it, I’m happy. A co-worker’s wife has seen some of my cards (another co-worker purchase them from me) and hinted to her hubby. He showed up at my desk on Monday and asked if I’d make an anniversary card for him to give this weekend. I’ve been brainstorming what I should do (he gave me no direction). I fished for colors, images….anything; but he said anything was fine. My hubby works with the wife and was able to give me better direction than her husband. LOL. Turns out they have 2 pet mice. OOOOHHHHH, I get to play with House Mouse!!! I tried a few different things and took the great advice of my DH during the process. I’m really pleased with the card and hope you like it too! (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).

My Card
Hardware Detail I’ve been hoarding my Hodgepodge Hardware and finally broke it out for this card.
Image Detail
I tried to make sure my girl mouse looked ‘girly’. I used a clear spica to outline the lines and sparkle up her ears, nose, and even added a bit of sparkley blue eye makeup. The hearts formed by their tails are spica-ed as well. This is totally a dorky Cat thing, but I even used the spica to dot the end of each of her fingers and toes to imitate polish.
Inside of Card
I have a box of embossed cards from DCWV. I'm trying to use them and came up with the idea of 'folding it inside out' so the 'actual' card front becomes the inside. The hearts card has the perfect spot for a sentiment. I chalked the hearts to match the card.

  9. Well your card turned out absolutely beautiful! I agree with you about making cards for fun and then selling them rather than to do custom.
