Navy Wedding Frame & Card

Tis the season for weddings. As it turned out I've been invited to 2 weddings one week apart. I've made name frames as baby gifts before and wanted to try them out as wedding gifts as well. I first stumbled upon the world of name frames on Angel's blog. She was so sweet to give me a few pointers and had made some GREAT frames. If you haven't 'met' her, you should really stop by. Especially around her birthday when she hosts her Days of Angelosity challenge. It's always a good time. So onto the first wedding name frame and card. I had several challenges to help inspire me. (Please see the Ins and Outs for links to the challenge websites and feel free to join in the fun).
Sketch Inspiration ~ Midnight Madness #6 Sketch I moved one element, but otherwise stayed true to the sketch. Please come and play along as you could win CA$H!
Color Inspiration ~ Stamp Something Challenge only black, white, and ONE color ( skin and hair color is OK). I used navy blue as my additional color. Inspiration The Pink Elephant 19 ~ Wedding A-Muse-A-Palooza 2009 Week 1 ~ Square Simon Says Stamp Challenge ~ Let’s Celebrate
My Creation
I realize a chef image isn't typical for wedding card. Since I work for an egg processing facility, I do a lot of chicken/egg themed cards. I work in the Corporate Quality department and share space with our Research and Development crew (affectionately called the mad scientists). The bride is one of the scientists always working in the kitchen so I thought my Voila set from Stampin Up would be appropriate.
Image Detail
I covered the chipboard E with Diamond Blue Stickles and added black 'buttons' to the jacket.
The stamp set includes the 'cover' for the tray. I had to tweak it a bit so it would be tall enough to conceal the bride and groom. I used a jeweled brad to create a 'hinge'. Now, onto the frame. This was kind of a long name, but I managed to make it fit.
A friend was kind enough to Cricut the date for me (it's on my wish list).
A few ribbons and charms and the gift was complete.
I created an almost identical frame for my other co-worker but in dark green. Of course the name was different at well. :o)
